About Devolio

Welcome to Devolio - My blog that helps developers learn how to wield developing tools and languages better, and more efficiently. My portfolio of applications and ideas also resides here as well.

My name is Joey Sochacki, and I'm a full time web developer. I make my living from freelance programming and development, consultation, and application security.

From hobby to profession

From high school, I went on to work for a local ISP. Though it was a job, and it paid the bills, the corporate work environment just wasn't doing it for me. The job did, however, provide me with a valuable asset to this day: experience with unix, and more programming. I decided after a little over a year later to find something new.

To cut a long story short, I grew tired of Windows, switched to linux, and started programming. Today, I continue doing the same thing, developing, consultation, and application security for my clients.

Devolio? Why Devolio?

Development portfolio
This site is dedicated to helping developers and programmers learn tricks and find tools to better themselves and myself as programmers.

I started Devolio in October '07 to keep an archive of all of the things I've been asked about, and articles, tips, tricks, tutorials, and studies I've done.

If you would like more information, or to get in touch with me, you can contact me with the email address below.

I hope you enjoy Devolio, thanks for taking the time to read this.
