    (Almost) Spring Cleaning

I have a bad habit. I love to browse, I have tons of RSS feeds and sites that I check multiple times daily. But that's not my bad habit - invariably during my browsing, I find things I'd like to give mention to, or sometimes try, but with work it never seems to happen. So I've decided to do a short little 'spring cleaning' list to clean up some of the clutter.
    Prototype 1.6.0.2 Cheat Sheet

First on my list is a Prototype 1.6.0.2 Cheat Sheet, very cleanly designed and styled. Has everything you could ever need reference to for Prototype on a single sheet.

    Firebug

Of course, who could not know of Firebug, for Firefox. Edit and debug HTML, CSS, and Javascript on the fly, and it's the best Javascript debugger around. It has a good profiler, CSS visualization, and did I mention it's great for debugging? Excellent tool, with many more features than I could name in a short paragraph.

    Web Developer Toolbar

Web Developer is another great toolbar for Firefox, and it tons of excellent features. Just to name a few: easy disabling of Java, Javascript, Cookies, etc. Display page information, resizing the page, validating, viewing the source, it does everything. Excellent for speeding up the little things.

    MeasureIt

Yet another one tool take for granted all the time, MeasureIt. Click the button, and it lightens your screen a bit while you measure things, and click it again to go back to normal. Quick, useful plugin for any designer or developer.

A nice list from noupe with quite a few nice Ajax / CSS forms and variants. Another gem I found in here is Prototip, which makes it simple to concoct really slick looking tooltips with Prototype.

Keeping with the design perks, Mikko Koppanen (one of the lead developers of the Imagick PHP extension) has some great practical tutorials on Imagemagick and Imagick on his blog.

PhpUnit is a nice tool to use for unit testing PHP applications. There's also PHP.JS - A project looking to port PHP to Javascript. They've already completed a sizeable chunk of functions, it's worth a try (or a contribution.) And last but not least, The Unofficial PHP6 Changelog.

What are some of your favorite day to day tools? Let us know!
