Ismail,

Are you sure you've restarted apache? (sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart) That can happen if the PHP module hasn't been loaded yet.

Let me know if that fixes your problem.

but i have a problem, when i point to browser, instead of opening the page, it asks whether to save or open with mozilla??? how will i overcome it?

Top blog post this is, saved me faffing when 'pecl install apc' didn't work out the box.
Also has speeded up my app time from 0.06 seconds to 0.02seconds so top stuff.

Its very useful - I used it in one of my project. It was a program to extract comments and create documentation using the code.

First, I tried to do it using Regular expression - but soon the code got real hairy. Then I switched to PHP's tokenizer functions - they where very helpful.

Apart from my Eclipse IDE I think this is pretty much the most important tool I use on a day to day basis.
It's definitely worth reading the documentation to discover timing/profiling features and command line gems that really speed up development time and bug fixing!
